marajuana

People should have the option of legally using this almost harmless drug if they want to. it has been shown to be just as bad as smoking tobacco. it is so common within society to smoke this drug and it is so easy to get hold of, that it is practically legal anyway.

Smoking

I think that smoking is a disgusting habit and should be banned and classed as an illegal drug as causes so much harm to smokers aswel as others, as passive smoking is as much damaging as actually smoking. I think that it is an excellent government innitative to ban smoking in all public places, it should have been done a long time ago, but better late then never!

tattoos and piercings

I think that tattoos are a representation of self espression and individuality and should not be seen as socially unacceptable. I think that in Britain tattoos are acceptable to a large extent as they are very common in people from every age, race and gender. It is the same idea with piercings, piercings are seen as a fashionable and are also used as a form of self expression and individuality.

prostitution

http://www.channel4.com/life/microsites/P/prostitution/In my personal oppinion i do not think that it should be classed as prostitution if a woman was to accept money from someone who is expecting sex, and then not go through with it. It is simply deception on the womans part but not prostitution as she does not physically selling her body.
I think that it would be more socially acceptable for the woman to not have intercourse with a man offering money to her then to actualy hav sex with him for the money in return

shoplifting

People who can afford to buy things may shoplift, simply for the adrenaline rush, shoplifting can give certain people a rush of excitement, making them feel powerful and superior to the company they are theiving from. Other factors could be the price of the products being stolen may be seen as a rip off or too expensive, also the opportunity may have just been seen as easy to do at the time.

Stealing

http://www.kidshealth.org/kid/health_problems/learning_problem/stealing.htmlI do not think shoplifting is different to anyother form of theft as it is still breaking the law. Although it can be seen as different as shoplifting may not be a violent or forceful act towards anm individual. Shoplifting affects a company and not a single person as burgelry would affect someone personally. So shoplifting may be seen as less of a crime because of this.
